SAN DIEGO – Pro golfer Maiya Tanaka today announced a significant endorsement relationship with Katherine Cosmetics, a new fast-growth entrant into the cosmetics and beauty industry founded by Katherine "Annie" Finch, a 23-year Estee Lauder veteran.
Tanaka will be featured as a brand ambassador for Katherine Cosmetics in trade, print and online advertising for the company's K-Sport Beauty product line. Tanaka will make numerous personal appearances on behalf of Katherine Cosmetics as part of the current Symetra Tour season.
During her competitive rounds on the Symetra Tour, Tanaka will use Katherine Cosmetics products exclusively and will prominently display the company's logo on her golf bag, apparel and visor.
Annie Finch, CEO of Katherine Cosmetics said, "As a professional athlete who is admired by women around the country, Maiya Tanaka's appeal comes down to a mix of world-class athleticism combined with a very real, genuine persona. She is truly beautiful on the inside and, of course, wants to look beautiful on and off the course. And she doesn't have an endless amount of time to accomplish this! Using the Everyday Beauty Collection together with our K-Sport Collection allows Maiya to look beautiful with ease and simplicity."
Katherine Cosmetics features two product lines, Everyday Beauty and K-Sport Beauty, as part of its lifestyle collection designed for active women on-the-go. Another product line, Date Night Beauty, is set for release next year.
The K-Sport WOW Stick glides on quickly for a line-filling, moisturizing look that protects skin throughout the day. K-Sport Lip Protection is a broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 20 sheer lip gloss that delivers both comfort and shine, with just a hint of color for naturally refreshed lips.
Tanaka said, "K-Sport Beauty helps me look and feel my best. Whether I am making a birdie or doing a press interview, I love the products and I'm excited about using them in my everyday life."
Tanaka is well known for her successful varsity golf career at UCLA, where she was named Most Improved Player and earned NCAA All-Central Region Honors. She gained considerable notoriety for her golf skills and her classic beauty as a competitor on the Golf Channel's "Big Break Puerto Rico" in 2010. Maiya Tanaka also competed as a teammate with her sister Misa Tanaka in the 20th season of CBS's "Amazing Race"in 2012.
The Katherine Cosmetics endorsement marks an important milestone in Tanaka's journey as a professional athlete. Her competitive goal this year is to achieve full playing status on the prestigious Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour. Tanaka plans to play in all 20 scheduled Symetra Tour events this year in her quest to earn her LPGA tour card.
